Yikes!

Going to the doctor is depressing.
At 56, tests show that I have 71 year old arteries.
(I want back all of those onion rings that I didn't order!)

And x-rays show that I have "severe degeneration"
in three of my neck vertebrae.

I'm not sure I've had enough fun in my life to have
a body in this kind of shape.

A few observations about your x-rays and diagnoses:
1. The only thing about you that is "severely degenerate" is your wacky sense of humor. I lovelovelove it!
2. All of the above proves why one shouldn't go to doctors, unless it's an extreme emergency. They'll only tell you bad news, and I have a personal aversion to bad news.
3. You and I have had some serious fun (South American cruise; Angel Fire, N.M.; Crestone, CO -- will NEVER forget the "lost car key" incident!; Ireland; shopping/eating/movies/etc... so I figure we need to super-ramp-up the fun to catch up w/ your degenerating body parts.
Just sayin'......

Btw ... I adore your new blog quotes and the new photo! Do I recognize a hermit beehive entrance/exit way from the Ireland island of Inishmore?

Alas, that photo is not from the real hermit beehive that we visited on Inishmore. It's from the recreated mound (a smaller, simulated version of mounds such as Newgrange) that was at St. Brigid's Garden on the mainland.

I love the light and the symbolism of going toward the light that came out in the photo. That trip was truly great and I'm so glad that I went. See, give it time we forget all about the exhaustion we experienced.
